What you'll do:

As Deputy Head of Human Resources you will be entrusted with significant responsibility for shaping the organisation’s people agenda at both strategic and operational levels.

  • Review, develop, and enhance comprehensive HR policies and governance frameworks to ensure consistency across all business units while maintaining strict adherence to corporate compliance requirements.
  • Promote a positive employee experience by designing and driving group-wide engagement strategies, surveys, and action plans aimed at elevating satisfaction and retention.
  • Oversee employee relations matters by providing expert counsel on sensitive workplace issues such as conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, grievances, and DEI initiatives.
  • Define and execute the HR technology roadmap by identifying suitable platforms that improve operational efficiency, data integrity, and overall employee experience.
  • Lead the implementation and optimisation of HR systems including HRMS, LMS, performance management platforms, and self-service portals in partnership with technology teams.
  • Develop robust talent management frameworks encompassing succession planning, high-potential development programmes, career pathway design, and annual talent reviews.
  • Collaborate closely with business leaders to build strong talent pipelines for critical roles while supporting leadership development aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Conduct regular reviews of performance management frameworks to ensure fairness, transparency, alignment with business needs, and effective handling of performance issues.
  • Leverage workforce analytics by building dashboards and reporting frameworks that provide actionable insights into headcount trends, attrition rates, engagement levels, DEI indices, and total rewards competitiveness.
  • Ensure data governance by maintaining accuracy and confidentiality across all HR data initiatives while translating findings into strategic recommendations for senior management.

What you bring:

To excel as Deputy Head of Human Resources you will bring extensive experience gained from senior roles within complex matrixed environments where you have successfully navigated both local regulatory landscapes in Greater China as well as global best practices.

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related discipline; postgraduate qualification is considered advantageous for this role.
  • A minimum of 18 years’ progressive experience in human resources with at least 8 years spent in senior leadership positions within large-scale organisations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in group-level or regional HR leadership roles ideally gained within property development real estate construction or similar sectors.
  • Proven ability to lead policy development talent management performance management employee relations projects across diverse business units.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in designing implementing optimising HR technology strategies including HRMS LMS performance platforms digital onboarding tools etc.
  • Exposure to PRC employment law operations is highly desirable given the cross-border nature of responsibilities involved here.
  • Strategic mindset capable of translating commercial objectives into actionable people strategies supported by robust frameworks.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication presentation skills enabling effective collaboration with senior stakeholders business leaders cross-functional teams alike.
  • Data-driven approach with strong analytical abilities allowing you to derive meaningful insights from workforce metrics for informed decision-making purposes.
  • High levels of integrity professionalism discretion required when handling sensitive confidential information especially during periods of organisational change.
