Remittance Operation Officer (12-Month Contract)

A leading financial institution seeks a Remittance Operation Officer in Hong Kong to enhance payment and remittance operations, ensuring seamless transaction processing, regulatory compliance, and exceptional client service.

Key responsibilities:

• Process daily inward/outward remittances, clearing, cheques, autopays and FPS transactions
• Handle transaction banking and CNY correspondent payments, ensuring accurate and timely processing
• Liaise with Front Office, AMO, customers and correspondent banks to resolve payment issues and obtain approvals
• Perform account posting, Nostro reconciliation and daily payment controls, resolving outstanding breaks
• Manage daily/monthly reports and maintain accurate client POA and account documentation
• Support UAT, system upgrades, HKICL drill tests and ad-hoc projects as part of operational and control initiatives

Candidate profile:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in back-office banking operations, specialising in remittance, payments, and clearing
• Hands-on experience with FPS, HKICL, SWIFT (SAA), Nostro reconciliation, and screening tools such as ACTIMIZE and Dow Jones
• Experience in a regulated banking environment, ensuring accurate transaction processing and compliance with operational controls
• Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively
• Fluent in English, with Mandarin proficiency is an advantage

Requirements

• Comply with legal, regulatory and internal Compliance requirements, including the Hong Kong Compliance Manual and Financial Crime Policy
• Complete mandatory training to maintain required knowledge, qualifications and role competence
• Maintain fitness, properness and professional standards required to perform the role
• Complete all requirements for the annual certification process and ongoing role eligibility
• Follow all applicable regulatory conduct rules and internal standards
