Senior Trader - Hedge Fund

A leading global hedge fund is seeking a Senior Trader to join its high-performing team in Hong Kong. You will leverage your expertise across multiple asset classes, including equities, convertible bonds, fixed income, FX, and volatility products.

Key responsibilities:

• Partner closely with Portfolio Managers (PMs) to deliver best execution across multiple asset classes, including equities, convertible bonds, fixed income, FX, and volatility
• Provide coverage of Pan-Asia markets as well as US markets as required
• Deliver timely market color, insights, and intelligence to PMs and internal stakeholders
• Provide portfolio support by monitoring and identifying opportunities and deal pipelines, and managing hedges, FX exposures and other portfolio risks
• Drive the firm’s portfolio financing agenda, including securities lending (SBL) capabilities and liquidity, leverage, repo trading, and related activities
• Build and cultivate strong relationships with sell-side brokers and other market counterparties
• Drive ad-hoc projects and strategic initiatives, including front-office technology, automation, AI, and trading infrastructure enhancements

Skills, Experience, and Expertise:

• Bachelor’s degree holder in Finance, Business or related discipline
• Around 8 -12 years of experience in execution, preferably in a buy-side equities/fixed income/fx trading role
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy are critical
• Solid equities experience is essential, with a strong understanding of market microstructure, execution strategies, and regional market nuances and conventions
• Exposure to fixed income, FX, and derivatives is advantageous
• Ability to perform under pressure, manage competing priorities, and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Strong work ethic, with a proactive attitude and willingness to learn
• Proficiency in Bloomberg and advanced Excel; experience with Python, SQL, or R is a plus
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
