Trust Operations Officer – Payment (6 months contract)

A leading financial institution seeks a Trust Operations Officer – Payment (6 months contract) in Hong Kong to strengthen payment operations and deliver accurate, compliant trust services during a key transformation initiative.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end processing of client, trustee, and vendor payments, ensuring accurate execution of TT, CHATS, SWIFT, local transfers, and cheques within strict cut-off times
• Oversee daily transaction processing, account reconciliations, and operational reporting while maintaining compliance with internal policies, AML/KYC requirements, and audit standards
• Partner with Relationship Managers, Compliance, IT, external banks, and service providers to resolve payment exceptions and support compliant trust and estate account disbursements
• Drive operational excellence by identifying process improvements, strengthening controls, and contributing to the efficiency and quality of payment operations
• Support a collaborative team environment by sharing knowledge, participating in training, and building expertise across banking payment systems and operational processes

Candidate profile:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field with at least 2 years' experience in Accounts Payable, Payment Processing, Remittance, or Back-Office Banking Operations
• Hands-on experience with payment platforms and processes including SWIFT, TT, CHATS, cheques, payment vouchers, MS Excel, and account reconciliations
• Proven exposure to banking operations with a strong understanding of internal controls, AML/KYC requirements, regulatory compliance, and audit processes
• Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
