Global HQ organisation seeking a Head of Credit Control to lead finance transformation and elevate credit governance. This role will drive the design and implementation of group-wide policies, strengthen credit risk management, and optimise working capital. Partnering with regional teams, you will enhance processes, systems, and performance to support sustainable global growth.

About the Role

Reporting to senior finance leadership, the Head of Credit Control will play a critical leadership role in driving the transformation of the credit control function. This includes establishing best-in-class corporate policies, governance frameworks, and operational processes across all regions.
You will lead the global credit control strategy, enhance working capital performance, and ensure robust risk management practices while partnering closely with regional finance teams and key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Transformation

  • Lead the design and execution of a global credit control transformation roadmap aligned with the organisation’s finance strategy
  • Establish and standardise credit control policies, procedures, and governance frameworks across all regions
  • Drive process optimisation, automation, and system enhancements to improve efficiency and scalability
  • Act as a key contributor to broader finance transformation initiatives

Credit Risk Management

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive credit risk framework, including credit assessment, approval, and monitoring processes
  • Set global credit limits and oversee high-risk accounts
  • Ensure proactive risk mitigation strategies are in place to minimise bad debt exposure

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee end-to-end credit control operations, including billing, collections, dispute management, and cash application
  • Drive improvements in cash flow, DSO (Days Sales Outstanding), and working capital performance
  • Implement KPIs and dashboards to monitor performance across regions

Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with commercial, sales, legal, and regional finance teams to balance risk and growth objectives
  • Influence senior stakeholders on credit decisions and policy adherence
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders including auditors, credit agencies, and insurers

Team Leadership

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing global credit control team
  • Drive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and best practice sharing
  • Provide coaching and leadership to regional teams to ensure consistency and capability uplift

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and audit standards
  • Strengthen internal controls and ensure adherence to corporate governance frameworks
  • Lead periodic reviews and updates of credit policies

The Successful Applicant

Experience & Qualifications

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline (CPA/ACCA or equivalent is required)
  • Extensive experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or working capital management within a multinational environment
  • Proven track record in leading finance transformation or process improvement initiatives
  • Experience managing global teams and operating within a matrix organisation

  • Deep understanding of credit risk management and global best practices
  • Strategic mindset with strong execution capability
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
