Financial Controller | EMS | PRC Based | 100k

An electronics manufacturing organisation in Hong Kong seeks a Financial Controller to lead financial strategy, governance, and operations for its EMS business in the PRC.

Key responsibilities:

As Financial Controller, you will oversee financial operations, cost accounting, budgeting, compliance, cash flow, and team leadership while driving ERP and process improvements for EMS operations in the PRC.

• Lead monthly/quarterly/annual closing and prepare management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) in accordance with PRC GAAP and IFRS
• Own cost accounting: standard costing, WIP, inventory valuation, and variance analysis (PPV, labour, overhead)
• Build and maintain robust product costing framework for EMS operations
• Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes; provide financial scenarios for strategic decisions
• Establish internal controls, manage external audits, and ensure compliance with PRC tax regulations
• Manage cash flow, working capital, AR/AP operations, and banking relationships
• Lead and develop local finance team
• Support ERP system optimisation (SAP/Oracle) and process improvements

Candidate profile:

To excel in this role, you bring manufacturing finance expertise, strong leadership skills, and experience with cost accounting and ERP systems.

• Fully qualified accountant with ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or CA designation (mandatory)
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum 7–10 years’ progressive finance and accounting experience in manufacturing environments
• Proven experience in Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS), contract electronics manufacturing, or electronics assembly industry (mandatory)
• Deep expertise in standard costing, inventory/WIP, BOM, manufacturing cost structures
• Fluent English & Mandarin (written & spoken); Cantonese plus
• Must be willing to be stationed on-site in PRC (mandatory)
