Infrastructure Support Engineer (Linux Platform)

A leading financial services organisation seeks an experienced Linux Platform Engineer to join its technology operations team.

The role is responsible for supporting and enhancing enterprise Linux platforms, ensuring a secure, resilient, and high-performing environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in platform operations, automation initiatives, and infrastructure modernisation projects.

Key responsibilities:

• Work closely with application, development, and infrastructure teams to deliver and maintain technology solutions
• Manage the day-to-day operations of enterprise Linux environments, ensuring optimal system availability, stability, and performance
• Troubleshoot complex production incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes to prevent recurrence
• Support platform upgrades, system enhancements, and infrastructure improvement initiatives
• Develop automation solutions to streamline operational processes and reduce manual effort
• Participate in on-call support and provide technical escalation support for production environments
• Implement infrastructure changes in accordance with established governance and change management procedures
• Maintain system security through patch management, vulnerability remediation, and compliance-related activities
• Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge articles
• Partner with infrastructure, security, and project teams to support technology transformation initiatives

Candidate profile:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related discipline
• Minimum 6 years’ experience supporting enterprise Linux environments. Experience in the financial services industry is highly preferred
• Strong hands-on experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) in large-scale production environments
• Solid knowledge of Linux system performance tuning, capacity planning, troubleshooting, and operational support
• Proficiency in Shell/Bash scripting for automation and system administration tasks
• Experience with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible is an advantage
• Exposure to virtualisation and cloud technologies
• Fluency in both spoken and written English and Cantonese is required
