(Assistant) Manager, IT Vendor & Contract Management
A well-established large organisation with a sizeable Technology, Digital and Transformation function is seeking an experienced professional to lead IT financial management, contract governance, vendor management, and cost optimisation initiatives across the Transformation team.
The role will partner closely with Technology, Finance, Procurement, Legal, and external vendors to drive effective budget management, strengthen commercial governance, ensure contract compliance, and maximise value from technology investments in support of strategic business objectives.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead IT budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and technology investment tracking activities
- Drive cost optimisation initiatives through financial analysis, contract reviews, consumption monitoring, and commercial negotiations
- Manage the end-to-end contract lifecycle, including vendor selection, renewals, amendments, negotiations, and ongoing governance
- Maintain effective oversight of technology contracts, ensuring key commercial terms, obligations, milestones, and renewal requirements are appropriately managed
- Develop business cases, financial models, and scenario analyses to support investment decisions and strategic initiatives
- Partner with Technology, Finance, Procurement, and Legal teams to establish and maintain strong financial and commercial controls
- Build and manage relationships with key technology vendors to deliver value, manage risk, and support business priorities
- Monitor vendor performance, service levels, and contractual commitments, driving remediation plans where necessary
- Identify opportunities to improve commercial processes, governance frameworks, and financial reporting capabilities
- Prepare and present management reports, budget updates, forecasts, and commercial insights to senior stakeholders
Candidate profile:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related discipline
- At least 7 years’ relevant experience in IT Finance, Technology Commercial Management, Contract Management, Vendor Management, Technology Procurement, or a related field
- Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, business case preparation, and cost management
- Proven track record in managing technology contracts, vendor negotiations, renewals, and commercial governance
- Good understanding of technology services, software licensing, cloud subscriptions, managed services, and professional services agreements
- Experience working with major technology vendors such as Microsoft, Oracle, ServiceNow, AWS, Azure, or similar enterprise technology providers
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, stakeholder management, and communication skills
- Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint, and other reporting and data analysis tools
- Professional certifications in Finance, Procurement, Contract Management, ITIL, FinOps, or related disciplines would be an advantage
- Fluency in spoken and written English and Cantonese is required
