IT Business Analyst, Equity Trading Systems (Investment Bank)

A leading investment bank seeks an IT Business Analyst (Equity Trading Systems) in Hong Kong to optimise equity trading systems and drive trading performance across global equity markets.

Key responsibilities:

As an IT Business Analyst, you will bridge business and technical teams to deliver effective equity trading solutions, optimise processes, and support successful project delivery across global markets.

• Engage with front, middle office, and research users to gather and document requirements, including business requirements and user acceptance test plans
• Analyse business needs, identify trends, gaps, opportunities, and risks, and propose high-level solutions aligned with organisational objectives
• Collaborate with project and development teams on system design and implementation for global equity trading and research, clarifying requirements throughout the project lifecycle
• Support testing and user acceptance by reviewing test cases, validating requirements, resolving implementation discrepancies, and facilitating smooth project delivery
• Monitor and report business and project performance, escalate risks and issues, provide senior management updates, and manage multiple priorities accurately

Candidate profile:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field, with 5+ years’ experience in cash equity front office trading systems and 3+ years in Investment Banking or Securities Trading business analysis and support
• Strong expertise in cash equity OMS/EMS technology, including exchange connectivity, with sell-side or buy-side experience
• Comprehensive understanding of equity business workflows, particularly across Asian markets, with hands-on cash equity EMS/OMS experience
• Basic Linux knowledge and proficiency in Excel, SQL, and FIX Protocol, with strong problem-solving, analytical, and process optimisation skills
• Excellent Cantonese and English communication skills, with strong attention to detail, organisation, time management, and the ability to collaborate or work independently
