Regional Data Architect (Data & AI)

This role sits within the regional Data Office and plays a critical part in shaping enterprise-wide data architecture, enabling cloud transformation, and supporting the adoption of advanced analytics and AI capabilities. The successful candidate will work closely with business, technology, and data leaders to establish scalable, secure, and future-ready platforms that support strategic growth initiatives across multiple markets.

The position offers significant exposure to large-scale data modernization programs, regional transformation initiatives, and emerging AI technologies, requiring a combination of architectural leadership, hands-on technical expertise, and strong stakeholder engagement skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and evolution of enterprise data and AI architecture across Asia, ensuring alignment with business objectives and long-term technology strategy.

• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to translate complex requirements into scalable data, analytics, and AI solutions.

• Define target-state architecture and technology roadmaps to support data-driven transformation initiatives across multiple markets.

• Drive the adoption of modern data platforms and cloud-native architectures, enabling scalable and efficient delivery of analytics and AI capabilities.

• Establish architecture standards, reference designs, and best practices to promote consistency, reusability, and operational excellence.

• Provide architectural leadership for strategic data, analytics, and AI programs, ensuring solutions are secure, resilient, and production-ready.

• Support the implementation of emerging AI and GenAI capabilities, helping the organization unlock new business opportunities through intelligent automation and advanced insights.

• Collaborate with regional and global teams to drive architectural alignment, platform modernization, and technology innovation.

• Champion strong data governance practices, including data quality, lineage, metadata management, and regulatory compliance.

• Ensure architecture designs incorporate security, privacy, and risk considerations while supporting evolving business and regulatory requirements.

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to architecture and engineering teams, fostering adoption of modern engineering and delivery practices.

Candidate Profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• 10+ years of experience in data architecture, enterprise architecture, data engineering, or large-scale data platform delivery.

• Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale data and analytics platforms within complex organizations.

• Strong expertise in cloud technologies, particularly Azure, with exposure to multi-cloud environments considered advantageous.

• Solid understanding of modern data architecture concepts such as Lakehouse, Data Fabric, Data Mesh, and cloud-native data platforms.

• Experience supporting AI, machine learning, or GenAI initiatives within enterprise environments.

• Strong knowledge of data governance, data management, security, and regulatory best practices.

• Experience delivering large-scale transformation or platform modernization initiatives.

• Familiarity with enterprise integration patterns, distributed systems, and real-time data architectures is an advantage.

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior technology and business leaders.

• Experience working across Asia-Pacific markets and highly regulated industries such as financial services or insurance would be highly beneficial.
