AI Tech Lead (IT Solution Company)

A leading IT solutions and digital transformation company is seeking a AI Tech Lead to drive the design, development, and delivery of enterprise AI and Generative AI solutions for clients across Hong Kong.

This role focuses on the hands-on development of AI-powered applications while providing technical leadership across multiple client projects. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, architects, project teams, and clients to design, build, and deploy scalable AI solutions that deliver measurable business value.

The position requires a strong balance of software engineering expertise, AI solution development, and project leadership capability. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs), AI application development, cloud technologies, and modern software engineering practices, while remaining actively involved in coding and solution delivery.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise AI and Generative AI solutions across multiple client engagements.
• Act as a hands-on technical lead, contributing to application development, code reviews, troubleshooting, solution architecture, and deployment activities.
• Design and develop AI-powered applications leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI Agents, vector databases, and prompt engineering techniques.
• Drive end-to-end project delivery, including requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Build scalable backend services, APIs, and microservices that integrate AI capabilities into enterprise applications and business processes.
• Collaborate with clients, business analysts, project managers, architects, and development teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Lead and mentor a team of developers and AI engineers, promoting engineering best practices and ensuring high-quality delivery standards.
• Develop and deploy cloud-native AI solutions on platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and frameworks, driving innovation and recommending new capabilities that can enhance client solutions.
• Support presales activities, technical workshops, solution demonstrations, and proof-of-concept initiatives with prospective and existing clients.
• Establish best practices around AI governance, model evaluation, observability, security, and responsible AI adoption.
• Maintain technical documentation, architecture designs, coding standards, and implementation guidelines throughout the project lifecycle.

Candidate profile:

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8–12 years of software engineering and application development experience, with recent experience delivering AI or Generative AI solutions.
• Strong hands-on development experience using Python, Java, Node.js, or other modern programming languages.
• Proven experience developing and implementing GenAI applications utilizing LLMs, RAG frameworks, AI Agents, vector databases, and prompt engineering methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with AI platforms and frameworks such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, LangChain, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, or similar technologies.
• Strong understanding of application architecture, RESTful APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and cloud-native development principles.
• Experience deploying and managing solutions on Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, containerization technologies, Kubernetes, and MLOps concepts.
• Proven experience leading development teams while remaining actively involved in software delivery and technical problem-solving.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience working within technology consulting, system integration, software services, or digital transformation environments is highly preferred.
