Procurement Director (Technology Group)

A technology group is seeking a Procurement Director in Hong Kong to lead and shape its procurement function across equipment, materials and professional services.

This is a senior leadership opportunity to set procurement strategy, strengthen governance, influence major sourcing decisions and build a high-performing team supporting the organisation’s operational and service-delivery objectives.

Key responsibilities:

  • Own procurement strategy and influence sourcing decisions that support organisational priorities, cost-effectiveness and service delivery
  • Lead the full procurement lifecycle, from tender and quotation preparation through supplier evaluation, negotiation and contract execution
  • Shape procurement governance by ensuring fair, consistent and compliant practices while identifying opportunities to improve policies, procedures and systems
  • Manage a substantial purchasing portfolio covering equipment, materials and professional services, with responsibility for forecasting requirements and cost parameters
  • Influence senior stakeholders by providing procurement expertise and advice through committees and cross-functional engagements
  • Lead and develop the procurement team, building capability while driving high standards of efficiency, integrity and professional performance

Candidate profile:

  • 10+ years’ managerial procurement experience in a sizable organisation; public or publicly funded sector experience preferred
  • Proven expertise in strategic sourcing and managing substantial procurement portfolios; specialised equipment procurement is an advantage
  • Strong knowledge of procurement governance and compliance, particularly within publicly funded organisations
  • Proven leadership, stakeholder management and negotiation skills, with sound business judgement and experience developing procurement talent
  • Solid e-Procurement and ERP experience, strong English and Chinese communication skills, and a tech-savvy, independent approach
  • A recognised degree in Purchasing, Supply Management, Business Administration or a related discipline
