Senior Internal Communications Manager, Bank (6-month contract)
Our client, a well-established bank, is seeking an experienced communications professional to lead strategic internal communications and employee engagement initiatives across a regional platform. This role is responsible for developing and delivering impactful, creative, and purpose-driven communications that strengthen employee engagement, support business priorities, and enhance the overall employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive and execute strategic leadership communications across existing and emerging communication channels and platforms.
- Translate business strategies, priorities, and initiatives into engaging and relevant content for employees across all levels of the organization.
- Develop, manage, and deliver complex communications projects with clear objectives, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
- Design and implement employee engagement initiatives that strengthen connections between leadership and employees.
- Create compelling content for a variety of channels, including intranet platforms, newsletters, videos, and digital communications, with defined success metrics and engagement targets.
- Provide strategic communications advice and coaching to senior leaders, supporting effective messaging, storytelling, and communication delivery.
- Support communications during sensitive, crisis, or business-critical situations, ensuring clear, timely, and effective messaging.
- Analyse communication metrics, employee feedback, and engagement data to continuously improve communication effectiveness.
- Partner with stakeholders across regions and markets to ensure consistent execution of strategic initiatives while adapting to local needs and cultural nuances.
- Collaborate effectively within a matrix environment and across diverse teams to deliver key programs and campaigns.
Requirements
- Proven experience developing and implementing internal communications and employee engagement strategies that support business objectives and deliver measurable results.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and content development skills, with the ability to craft clear and compelling messages for diverse employee audiences.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, including experience partnering with senior executives and leadership teams.
- Ability to understand complex business challenges and develop communication solutions that drive engagement and business outcomes.
- Highly self-motivated, able to work independently in fast-paced, ambiguous environments while managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent collaboration, interpersonal, project management, and strategic planning skills.
- Experience working across regions, cultures, and matrix organizations.
- Knowledge of financial services or other highly regulated industries is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of modern communication trends, digital engagement tools, and best practices in internal communications.
- Demonstrated ability to balance competing priorities while maintaining a high standard of quality and execution.
- Adaptable and commercially minded, with the ability to tailor communications approaches to different markets and audiences.
