Legal counsel, VP - regional bank

A global banking institution is seeking a Legal Counsel to join their team.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise front-office deal teams on complex bilateral and syndicated loans, structured financing, and derivative-backed debt solutions.

• Review, draft, and negotiate non-standard financing agreements (e.g., LMA/APLMA documentation), derivative contracts (ISDA Master Agreements, CSAs), and related security/collateral frameworks.

• Provide unified legal advice on the interaction between lending facilities and associated hedging/derivatives instruments (including netting, cross-defaults, and intercreditor arrangements).

• Monitor and advise on relevant banking, market, and cross-border regulatory developments impacting lending and derivatives activities.

• Act as an escalation point for complex documentation issues, default/restructuring scenarios, and external counsel management.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer in a common law jurisdiction with at least 7 years of Post-Qualification Experience.

• Significant experience gained within a top-tier law firm and/or a major global corporate/investment bank.

• Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience in Corporate Loans / Syndicated Finance /OTC Derivatives / ISDA frameworks.

• Proven ability to navigate cross-border transactions and multi-jurisdictional legal considerations in Asia-Pacific and beyond.

• Exceptional stakeholder management skills, sound commercial judgment, and the ability to articulate legal risks clearly to senior business leaders.
