What you'll do:
As a C&B Manager based in Hong Kong, you will be responsible for managing the full spectrum of payroll operations from reviewing calculations to ensuring compliance with local employment laws.
- Oversee end-to-end payroll operations as the primary reviewer to ensure accuracy, compliance with regulations, and timely processing for all employees.
- Review monthly payroll calculations including salary adjustments, bonuses, allowances, commissions, final payments, taxation matters, and statutory deductions to maintain precise records.
- Ensure strict adherence to Hong Kong Employment Ordinance, MPF requirements, taxation regulations, and company policies throughout all compensation and benefits processes.
- Manage and review comprehensive employee benefits programmes such as medical insurance, retirement schemes, wellness initiatives, and other offerings to enhance employee wellbeing.
- Partner with external vendors and internal stakeholders to facilitate smooth payroll and benefits administration while maintaining strong relationships.
- Support the development, implementation, and enhancement of compensation and reward programmes that ensure both market competitiveness and internal fairness.
- Participate actively in annual salary reviews, bonus exercises, incentive programmes, and compensation benchmarking activities to inform strategic decisions.
- Analyse compensation and benefits data thoroughly to provide actionable insights and recommendations that support business objectives.
- Drive process improvements by acting as a change agent for digitalisation initiatives and operational efficiencies across HR Operations and C&B functions.
- Maintain robust internal controls and data integrity across payroll systems while leading, coaching, and developing junior team members for continuous professional growth.
What you bring:
To excel as a C&B Manager in this role based in Hong Kong, you bring extensive experience managing payroll operations within regulated industries such as insurance or financial services.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related discipline is required for this position.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience in Compensation & Benefits management including Payroll operations within insurance or financial services sectors is essential.
- Proven hands-on expertise in payroll review processes with strong governance skills ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Hong Kong employment legislation including payroll taxation rules, MPF regulations, and benefits administration practices is necessary.
- Experience in designing compensation management frameworks such as salary benchmarking exercises, reward programmes, annual remuneration reviews is highly valued.
- Demonstrated people management abilities with proven success coaching junior staff members towards professional growth are important for this role.
- Exceptional analytical skills combined with numerical proficiency enable you to interpret complex data sets accurately for informed decision-making.
- Agility coupled with adaptability allows you to thrive amidst organisational changes while balancing strategic priorities alongside daily operations.
