Remittance Officer (Banking | 12-Month Contract)

An established international banking organisation seeks a Remittance Officer in Hong Kong for a 12-month contract.

Apply your payments expertise across remittances, clearing and CNY transactions, gaining broader exposure to transaction banking, correspondent payments and operational controls while supporting accurate, reliable payment services.

Key responsibilities:

• Process inward and outward remittances, including CNY correspondent payments
• Handle cheque, autopay and FPS clearing, including customer cheque deposits
• Investigate payment irregularities and coordinate approvals with Front Office and Agency Middle Office
• Perform account postings and daily Nostro reconciliation, following up on outstanding breaks
• Resolve payment enquiries from customers, internal teams and correspondent banks
• Maintain client documentation, prepare daily and monthly reports, and perform payment controls
• Support UAT, system upgrades, ad-hoc projects and clearing system drill tests

Candidate profile:

• A university degree is preferred
• At least 5 years' relevant experience in remittances, payments operations, clearing or transaction banking
• Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
• The ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a team
• Good written and spoken English; Mandarin or other additional languages would be an advantage
