Research Analyst (Healthcare)

Our client, a leading foreign investment banking firm, is looking for a Research Analyst / Associate to join their expanding team.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Sector Coverage: Collaborate with the Head of Research to execute comprehensive coverage of the Greater China healthcare space, prioritizing high-growth biotech and innovative commercial-stage pharmaceuticals.
• Institutional Research Generation: Formulate, author, and independently publish institutional-grade investment research. Deliverables include company initiations, thematic deep-dives, macro sector strategies, and earnings evaluations.
• Rigorous Fundamental Due Diligence: Conduct detailed scientific and commercial assessments. Evaluate clinical pipelines, mechanisms of action (MoA), regulatory milestones, clinical trial data, and competitive therapeutic benchmarks.
• Advanced Financial Architecture: Build, maintain, and stress-test sophisticated financial models. Synthesize valuation methodologies including risk-adjusted Net Present Value (rNPV), Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), and relative valuation metrics.
• Market & Regulatory Intelligence: Track structural shifts, National Reimbursement Drug List (NRDL) updates, and regulatory dynamics within the China healthcare landscape, cross-referencing them with global R&D milestones.
• Institutional Client Engagement: Service global buy-side clients, address sophisticated investment inquiries, and facilitate high-impact corporate access, including non-deal roadshows (NDRs), expert panels, and specialized industry conferences.

Qualifications & Technical Competencies

• Academic Excellence: Advanced postgraduate degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Pharmacology, Medicine, Biology, Biomedical Engineering, or a highly related life sciences discipline from a premier global university.
• Professional Track Record: 3 to 5 years of direct experience within institutional equity research (sell-side or buy-side), investment banking, or premier life sciences consulting, with a demonstrable focus on the China healthcare sector.
• Bilingual Proficiency: Absolute fluency in written and spoken English and Mandarin is mandatory. Candidates must possess exceptional professional English writing skills tailored for an international institutional client base.
• Technical & Platform Mastery: Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and equity analysis tools, including Bloomberg, Wind, and Excel. Strong progression toward or completion of the CFA designation is preferred.
