Fund Operations Analyst - Hedge Fund

A leading financial institution seeks a Fund Operations Analyst in Hong Kong to support the daily operations of its hedge fund activities, working closely with portfolio managers, risk teams, brokers and fund administrators.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide daily operational support, including cash management, payments, portfolio reconciliation and valuation
• Monitor trade feeds and ensure settlements are completed accurately and on time
• Support the setup of new managed accounts and assist with broker account opening
• Work with fund administrators to ensure Net Asset Value (NAV) and fee calculations are accurate and completed on time
• Generate daily P&L, exposure and other ad hoc reports for portfolio managers and risk teams
• Coordinate and liaise with brokers, fund administrators and other service providers on operational matters in a timely and professional manner
• Assist with fund compliance matters, margin monitoring and risk reporting
• Support year-end audits
• Support ad hoc projects and other duties as required

Candidate profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• Ideally, around 3 years’ operations experience in hedge fund or asset management
• Familiarity with prime broker and fund administrator reports
• Strong quantitative, problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
• Solid understanding of financial instruments, including equities, bonds, derivatives and cryptocurrencies
• Programming knowledge in VBA or Python is a strong advantage
• Good communication skills in English, Mandarin and Cantonese
• A strong team player with a high level of ownership and responsibility
• Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet tight deadlines
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Genuine interest in daily challenges and building a long-term career on the buy-side
