Hedge Fund Operations Associate

A highly reputable hedge fund organisation seeks a Hedge Fund Operations Associate in Hong Kong to join its growing five-person team, drive operational excellence, and support continued buy-side growth.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide daily operational support including cash management, payments, portfolio reconciliation and valuation
• Monitoring trade feeds and ensuring settlements happen correctly and on time
• Support new managed accounts set up and assist in broker accounts opening
• Working with different fund administrators to ensure the Net Asset Value (NAV) and fee calculations of the funds are calculated accurately and on time
• Generating daily P&L reports, exposure reports, and other ad-hoc reports for the portfolio managers and risk teams
• Coordinate and liaise with brokers, fund administrators and other service providers on operational matters in a timely and professional manner
• Assist in fund compliance matters, margins monitoring and risk reporting
• Support year-end audit
• Support ad hoc projects and other duties as needed

Candidate profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related disciplines
• Ideally with 1-8 years’ operations experience in hedge fund or asset management
• Familiar with prime broker and fund administrator reports
• Strong quantitative, problem solving and analytical skills
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, in particular Excel
• Solid understanding of financial instruments (equities, bonds, derivatives, cryptocurrencies etc.)
• Programming knowledge in VBA or Python is a strong advantage
• Good communications in English, Mandarin and Cantonese
• A good team player with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility
• Independent and capable of working under pressure to meet tight deadlines
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Genuinely driven by daily challenges and keen to build a long-term career on the buy-side
