Director of Operations (2BN USD, Hedge Fund)

A leading hedge fund in Hong Kong seeks a Director of Operations to lead trading and accounting operations, driving operational excellence and supporting business growth.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end fund operations across trade settlement, reconciliation, reporting, and relationships with prime brokers, custodians, and fund administrators to ensure seamless, accurate, and efficient execution
• Drive operational excellence by optimising processes, strengthening controls, and mitigating operational risk to support scalable and compliant fund management
• Oversee corporate accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, tax compliance, and cash flow management, ensuring accurate financial statements and sound financial governance
• Ensure timely and compliant fund administration by supervising NAV calculations, investor reporting, subscriptions/redemptions, performance fee calculations, regulatory reporting, and audit coordination
• Support investment strategies through effective capital allocation oversight while mentoring a junior team member, fostering capability development and high-performance operations

Candidate profile:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance or a related discipline, with at least 9 years’ experience in hedge fund operations and a proven track record in managing complex investment operations
• Strong expertise in trade operations across multiple asset classes, including settlement, reconciliation, reporting, and operational process optimisation within regulated hedge fund environments
• Extensive experience managing relationships with prime brokers, custodians, fund administrators, auditors, and external service providers while ensuring regulatory compliance
• Solid background in corporate accounting, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, tax compliance, cash flow management, NAV oversight, investor reporting, and subscription/redemption processes
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to exercise independent judgement, lead operational improvements, and mentor junior team members
