Senior Finance Manager - Bank

Our client is a well-established international financial institution with a strong presence across Asia. The firm operates a regulated platform in Hong Kong and is known for its robust control environment, strong governance standards, and commitment to business growth. Due to ongoing business and regulatory initiatives, they are seeking an experienced finance professional to join the team and support both financial control and regulatory reporting activities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation and review of financial reporting deliverables, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal policies and local regulatory requirements.
• Maintain a strong financial control framework, including balance sheet reconciliations, controls monitoring, and process governance.
• Support the submission and review of regulatory returns and statutory reporting obligations for Hong Kong entities.
• Partner closely with business stakeholders and senior management to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
• Analyse financial performance and management information to identify trends, risks, and business opportunities.
• Participate in new business initiatives by providing financial assessment, reporting impact analysis, and control recommendations.
• Lead or contribute to finance transformation projects, including process improvement, automation, and system enhancement initiatives.
• Coordinate with regional and global teams to implement regulatory, accounting, and reporting changes.
• Manage relationships with external auditors and support audit and regulatory review activities.
• Liaise with tax and corporate functions to ensure compliance with local tax, statutory, and intercompany reporting requirements.
• Mentor and develop junior team members while promoting operational excellence within the finance function.

Requirements

• Degree holder in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
• Qualified accountant (CPA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent).
• Approximately 8-12 years of relevant experience within banking, securities or other financial services institutions.
• Solid experience in financial reporting, financial control, regulatory reporting, or finance governance functions.
• Exposure to regulatory reporting requirements within the Hong Kong financial services sector is advantageous.
• Knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards.
• Candidates from Big 4 Audit, Product Control, Financial Control, or Regulatory Reporting backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate financial data into business insights.
