Managing Director, Student Living & Accommodation Platform

About the Role

Our client is a growing accommodation platform with ambitious expansion plans in Hong Kong. The Managing Director will be responsible for driving business growth, building strategic partnerships, maximizing portfolio performance, and leading the overall operating platform.

This is a highly entrepreneurial role suited for a commercially driven leader who enjoys building businesses, creating partnerships, and driving operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the overall business strategy, growth roadmap, and expansion plans for the platform.
• Drive business development initiatives, securing new management mandates, strategic partnerships, operating agreements, and investment opportunities.
• Build and maintain a strong network of property owners, landlords, universities, institutional partners, investors, and industry stakeholders.
• Own full P&L accountability, including revenue growth, profitability, occupancy, NOI performance, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Lead leasing, operations, marketing, projects, customer experience, and asset performance across the portfolio.
• Develop and implement asset management strategies to maximize occupancy, revenue, customer retention, and portfolio value.
• Act as the primary interface with investors, JV partners, landlords, service providers, and senior stakeholders.
• Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and growth initiatives.
• Build, inspire, and lead a high-performing team while fostering an entrepreneurial and accountable culture.
• Drive operational efficiency, process improvement, technology adoption, and scalable business practices.
• Establish performance metrics, reporting frameworks, and governance processes to support future growth.

Requirements

• Entrepreneurial, start-up mentality with a proven record of winning mandates or deals, not just running assets.
• Proven experience leading a business unit, platform, portfolio, or operating company with full commercial accountability.
• Strong track record in business development, partnership management, and revenue growth.
• Demonstrated P&L ownership with the ability to drive profitability, operational efficiency, and long-term value creation.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with experience engaging investors, landlords, partners, and senior executives.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Fluency in Cantonese and English is essential. Mandarin is an advantage.
