Operations Manager (Industrial Building - Waste Management)

A leading environmental organisation seeks an Operations Manager in Hong Kong to transform landfill operations, drive compliant and efficient waste management, and strengthen team performance.

Key responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day landfill operations and development projects, ensuring smooth transitions from construction to full operations
• Coordinate waste disposal activities, aligning capacity, manpower, delivery schedules, and operational priorities with regulations and company policies
• Manage master work schedules and stakeholder communications, proactively addressing delays and changes to maintain operational continuity
• Implement safety protocols and support staff training, ensuring a safe workplace and compliance with relevant laws and company standards
• Lead workforce planning and resource allocation, setting priorities to maximise productivity and meet operational targets
• Support annual budgeting and community engagement while coordinating improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency

Candidate profile:

• 8–10+ years’ experience in the landfill industry, with proven management and production operations experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental, or a related discipline
• Valid Hong Kong Class 1 & 2 driving licence with the ability to work effectively across operational and site environments
• Strong people management, communication, interpersonal, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail and accountability
• Communicate effectively in Chinese and English (written and spoken) with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders
