Head of FP&A | Finance business partner

About the Role

Reporting to the Regional Finance Director and serving as a key member of the Hong Kong leadership team, the Head of FP&A will act as the finance business head for the Hong Kong business. This role will take full ownership of financial planning, performance management, and commercial finance activities, partnering closely with the General Manager and Sales & Marketing leaders to drive profitable growth.

The successful candidate will provide strategic financial insights, challenge business assumptions, and lead business planning processes while ensuring sustainable P&L performance.

Key Responsibilities

Business Partnership & Commercial Leadership

Serve as the primary finance partner to the Hong Kong General Manager and leadership team.
Support strategic decision-making through financial analysis, scenario planning and business case evaluation.
Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Product Management and Operations teams to drive revenue growth and margin expansion.
Influence commercial strategies, pricing decisions, customer profitability initiatives and market expansion plans.
Provide actionable insights to improve business performance and resource allocation.

Financial Planning & Analysis

Lead annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting and long-range planning processes.
Develop robust financial models and performance dashboards to monitor key business drivers.
Deliver monthly business reviews, highlighting risks, opportunities and corrective actions.
Analyse revenue, gross margin, operating expense and working capital performance.
Drive financial transparency and accountability across business functions.

P&L Management

Own the financial performance of the Hong Kong business.
Monitor key performance indicators and ensure delivery against financial targets.
Identify and execute opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
Support business leaders in managing costs while maintaining growth momentum.

Strategic Projects & Transformation

Lead strategic initiatives, investment evaluations and business transformation projects.
Support M&A assessments, integration activities and new business opportunities where applicable.
Drive continuous improvement in FP&A processes, systems and reporting capabilities.
Enhance data-driven decision-making through advanced analytics and business intelligence tools.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

Act as a trusted adviser to senior leadership within Hong Kong and the regional organisation.
Lead and develop the local FP&A team.
Collaborate effectively with regional finance, shared services and corporate functions.
Build strong relationships across commercial and operational teams.

Requirements

Master & Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related discipline.
Professional qualification such as CPA, CA, ACCA, CFA or equivalent preferred.
10+ years of progressive finance experience, including significant FP&A and commercial finance exposure.
Proven experience supporting a General Manager or business leader within a multinational environment.
Solid understanding of industrial products, manufacturing, engineering, distribution or B2B sectors preferred.
Demonstrated experience managing a business unit P&L and influencing commercial decisions.
Strong financial modelling, forecasting and analytical capabilities.
Track record of partnering with Sales and Marketing functions to drive business performance.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Fluent in English and Cantonese; Mandarin would be advantageous.
