Assistant Accountant | Retail MNC | 30k

A leading multinational retail organisation seeks an Assistant Accountant in Hong Kong to maintain financial accuracy, support audits, and drive smooth daily finance operations.

Key responsibilities:

As an Assistant Accountant, you will manage core accounting activities, ensure financial accuracy and compliance, support reporting and audits, and contribute to process improvements.

• Perform sales, accounts receivable, and accounts payable reconciliations across retail and e-commerce channels, resolving discrepancies with relevant teams
• Prepare monthly management reports, variance analysis, and supporting schedules while providing analytical and reporting support to Finance leadership
• Support statutory audits, tax filings, and internal control reviews, ensuring compliance through accurate records and process documentation
• Maintain fixed asset registers, inventory reconciliations, and year-end stocktakes while coordinating payment runs, receipts, cash management, banks, and vendors
• Partner with operations, merchandising, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues, support special projects, and drive continuous improvements in accounting processes

Candidate profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, with at least 2 years’ relevant accounting experience
• Experience in retail, FMCG, or multinational corporate environments, with exposure to high-volume transactions and commercial accounting
• Strong reconciliation, financial reporting, audit, tax filing, fixed asset, inventory, and year-end stocktake experience
• Excellent attention to detail, deadline management, written and spoken English, with Cantonese or Mandarin advantageous
• Strong interpersonal and analytical skills, with experience supporting internal controls, cross-functional stakeholders, and ad hoc finance projects
