A fast-growing semi-government organisation is seeking a Financial Controller to report directly to senior management. Leading a lean finance team, you will oversee the full spectrum of finance, accounting, budgeting, reporting, compliance and internal controls. The role will also spearhead a high-profile ERP implementation project, driving process improvements and operational efficiency.

About the Organisation

Our client is a fast-growing semi-government organisation undergoing an exciting phase of expansion and transformation. With a strong commitment to operational excellence and public value creation, the organisation is investing in technology, process enhancement, and talent development to support its long-term strategic objectives.
As part of its continued growth, the organisation is seeking a high-calibre Financial Controller to partner closely with senior management and drive both finance operations and transformation initiatives.

About the Role

Reporting directly to senior management, the Financial Controller will lead a lean but high-performing finance team and be responsible for the full spectrum of finance and accounting functions. The successful candidate will play a critical role in strengthening financial controls, enhancing reporting capabilities, supporting strategic decision-making, and leading the implementation of a new ERP system.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on finance leader who enjoys operating in a dynamic environment and driving organisational change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all aspects of the finance and accounting function, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, taxation, and statutory compliance.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information.
  • Prepare timely management reports, financial analyses, and insights to support senior management decision-making.
  • Drive the implementation of a new ERP system, including project planning, stakeholder management, process redesign, testing, training, and post-implementation optimisation.
  • Review and enhance financial policies, procedures, and internal control frameworks to improve operational efficiency and governance.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to provide commercial and financial support on key projects and initiatives.
  • Manage external auditors, regulators, and professional advisors to ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the finance team while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
  • Support strategic initiatives, business planning activities, and transformation programmes across the organisation.

The Successful Applicant

  • Degree holder in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Qualified accountant (CPA, ACCA, HKICPA, or equivalent).
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive finance experience, preferably gained from sizeable organisations, public sector, semi-government bodies, or regulated environments.
  • Proven track record in financial management, controllership, and team leadership.
  • Hands-on experience in ERP implementation or major finance transformation projects is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting standards, internal controls, and corporate governance requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills in English and Chinese.
