Java Trading App Development & Support (Cantonese required)

A Leading bank seeks an AVP, Systems Development and Support to collaborate with business units, enhance back-office settlement trading systems, and apply Java expertise in a collaborative supporting financial operations, growth, and innovation.

Key responsibilities:

As an Assistant Vice President, Systems Support and Development, you will play a pivotal role in supporting critical trading systems within a respected local bank. You will collaborate with business units, implement system improvements, and ensure reliable support for back-office settlement systems.

• Partner with operations and business units to gather requirements and implement system enhancements and upgrades
• Collaborate with offshore teams to develop and maintain the in-house settlement system
• Conduct code reviews to ensure quality, performance, and adherence to standards
• Provide day-to-day system support, troubleshooting and resolving incidents promptly
• Support weekend work schedules and handle ad hoc projects as required

Candidate profile:

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Java development, strong knowledge of financial products, and a proven ability to manage complex trading systems. You’ll bring excellent communication skills, a proactive approach to risk awareness, and the ability to balance multiple priorities effectively.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• 2+ years trading system support and 5+ years Java/SQL development experience
• Strong knowledge of financial products and securities operations
• Hands-on experience with Java, Oracle, PL/SQL, Spring, and Linux/Windows platforms
• Strong analytical, communication (English, Mandarin, Cantonese), and task management skills; self-motivated with high-risk awareness
