Our client is seeking a highly skilled Java Developer to join their dynamic team in Hong Kong. This role offers the opportunity to work on a cutting-edge trading platform, focusing on building out strategic trading and post-trade capabilities. The successful candidate will have the chance to work with a diverse team of professionals in one of the best-positioned international financial institutions.

What you'll do:

• Technically specify, develop, test and maintain front office trading systems
• Work closely with internal IT staff to support the systems and day-to-day usage
• Collaborate with other development teams and project management teams in strategic projects
• Engage with business users for system implementation and requirement gathering
• Minimise operational failure by implementing sufficient regular controls
• Ensure understanding of banking standards such as FIX protocol

What you bring:

• Over 5 years of relevant experience with IT development in banking industry
• Proven experience in core Java development, SQL, python Kafka
• Good understanding of banking standards such as FIX protocol
• Experience in testing in agile development environment
• Strong communication, problem solving, analytical skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• strong understanding of trading systems, execution performance optimization, and market microstructure.
