A local conglomerate is looking for an Assistane General Manager to overseee IT, Cloud, DevOps opprtunities. This successful candidate would have strong stakholder/ vendor management experience; ability to lead vision and strategy across teams.

Role

  • Designing, deploying, operating and managing IT infrastructure and IT service
  • Lead and manage infrastructure teams to provide high quality IT service with SLA to business
  • Providing and managing IT budget to achieve business operation and project goal
  • Researching new technology to enhance IT service and platform to improve business operation performance

Responsibilities

  • Study business challenges and provide solution to business
    • Provide infrastructure services vision, enable innovation and leverage IT trends that can create business value consistent with the company’s requirements and expectations
    • Establish channels in understanding businesses needs and challenges
    • Understand business pipelines and implication on IT resources requirement and manage accordingly
    • Proactively participate in business development activities to promote IT capabilities and values
  • Manage and support IT Service
    • Provide IT directions and solutions on business requirements and operation challenges
    • Closely monitor IT KPIs and ensure high system availability
    • Provides quality service to end users in needs analysis, solution recommendation, vendor selection, implementation, training, and post-installation support
    • Determines pertinent information required by management in making effective decisions
    • Ensures that the gathering, processing, distribution and use of this information occur in a timely, accurate and cost effective manner through on-going review and education programs
    • Ensure information / reports to principals are provided on time accurately
  • Project and Budget Management
    • Lead, supervise or consult on projects to minimise risk, ensure on-time, on-budget and on-scope delivery
    • Lead all infrastructure projects and technology upgrade projects
    • Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
    • Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities
    • Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope
    • Prepares for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures
    • Minimises exposure and risk on project
    • Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately
  • Organisation and People Management
    • Oversee the performance management, mentoring, and career development of assigned IT staff
    • Reinforce team approach throughout practice in both client projects and internal initiatives
    • Responsible for the recruitment, development, motivation and retention of assigned IT staff
    • Arrange refreshment courses and super user trainings to business to upkeep business knowledge on IT systems


Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer Science or similar discipline
  • Certified in any of the following IT professional qualification is preferred
    • -Project Management (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2)
    • -Information security management (e.g. CISSP)
    • -IT governance / audit (e.g. CISA, CISM)
    • -IT service management (e.g. ITIL)
    • -System / Database Administration (e.g. OCA, OCP, MSSQL, MCSA, MCSE)
  • 15 years in IT with at least 6 in a managerial position
  • 5 years working experience of designing and developing IT infrastructure in accordance with the business strategies in MNC
  • 5 years of IT team/department budget management
  • 3 years working experience of managing +10M HKD projects
  • 3 years working experience to communicate IT challenges & opportunities effectively to all level, up to CEO, CIO, COO
  • Strong background on coordinating and leading Business Continuity Plan and DR projects and conduct annual review for enhancement
  • Strong background on vendor and service contract management and monitoring, including cost & benefit analysis, contract review and performance review
  • Knowledge in any of the below is preferred
    • Oracle DB, MS SQL, MySQL, MangoDB
    • AIX, Linux, VMware, VDI, MDM
    • Microsoft family: Window Server platform, AD, exchange, SharePoint, Office365
    • Cisco switch, H3C switch, Fortinet FG, Palo Alto NGFW, Citrix Netscaler, F5 BigIP, IronPort, Bluecoat
    • Cisco CM, UC, Jabber, MS Sky for Biz, Avaya IPT
    • Network protocols and service: BGP, OSPF, MPLS, IPLC, IPSec
    • Security and monitor platform: APT, SIEM, SandBoxing, NPMD, APM
