Contract IT Support Specialist (Buy-Side)

A Leading Hong Kong asset manager seeks a Contract IT Support Specialist (Buy-Side) to build infrastructure for new domiciled fund supporting trading systems, cybersecurity, compliance, and investment operations.

Key responsibilities:

As an IT Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in building and maintaining the technological foundation for a new fund. Your responsibilities will include:

• Design, implement, and manage secure IT infrastructure tailored to the needs of a newly established asset management fund
• Oversee deployment and support of portfolio management systems (PMS), order/trade management systems (OMS/EMS), and fund accounting platforms
• Maintain rigorous cybersecurity protocols and ensure adherence to local and international regulatory compliance requirements
• Manage vendor relationships to optimise service delivery and resolve technical issues efficiently
• Develop comprehensive backup strategies, disaster recovery plans, and business continuity processes to minimise operational risks

Candidate profile:

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in IT roles within asset management or trading-focused organisations, coupled with strong interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams effectively.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline is required
• At least five years’ experience in IT roles within asset management firms, hedge funds, or equity trading environments is essential
• Expertise in supporting trading systems (EMS/OMS) and financial applications relevant to buy-side operations is highly value
• Strong troubleshooting abilities paired with project coordination skills for managing multiple priorities effectively
• Hands-on experience working with vendors such as TORA Trading Services, Charles River Development, Enfusion, Triton, Broadridge Financial Solutions, Bloomberg, FactSet, Aladdin, or Linedata is highly desirable
