IT Contract Manager (~60K; Perm Role)

We are seeking a Bid Manager - Telecom Solutions to lead and manage the bid lifecycle for Telecom and IT solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop strategic, customer-focused proposals, ensuring compliance with business goals. The role involves driving stakeholder engagement, managing risks, and securing high-value contracts. Experience in telecom services like cloud, cybersecurity, and SASE, along with PMP/Lean Six Sigma certification, is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

1) Opportunity Qualification

  • Collaborative Assessment: Work closely with Sales, Solutions, and Commercial teams to review RFx documents and evaluate strategic fit, technical feasibility, and commercial viability.
  • Bid/No-Bid Decision: Facilitate structured discussions with stakeholders to align on risk, resource availability, and profitability before making a recommendation.
  • Team Engagement: Foster open communication and consensus-building during qualification meetings, ensuring technical, financial, and operational perspectives are considered.
  • Strategic Alignment: Confirm opportunities align with organizational goals and leverage team strengths to maximize win probability.

2) Bid Planning & Strategy

  • Define win themes, value propositions, and competitive differentiators specific to the telecom sector.
  • Develop bid plans, timelines, and governance checkpoints to drive efficient bid execution.

3) Proposal Management

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (Sales, Solutions, Finance, Legal) to create high-quality, customer-focused responses.
  • Ensure all proposals meet client requirements, internal compliance standards, and industry best practices.

4) Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all bid-related communications, both internally and externally.
  • Present bid strategies, progress, and outcomes to senior leadership and key decision-makers.

5) Risk & Compliance

  • Identify and mitigate contractual and commercial risks in collaboration with Legal, Finance, and Delivery teams.

6) Continuous Improvement

  • Conduct post-bid reviews to identify lessons learned and implement improvements for future bids.
  • Maintain a comprehensive bid library to streamline future proposal development processes.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Proven project management and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Deep understanding of procurement processes, contract law, and pricing models within the telecom sector.
  • Strong collaboration and leadership skills to foster teamwork and drive consensus.
  • Proficiency with tools like Power BI (for analytics) and Power Automate (for workflow efficiency).
  • Skilled in creating and delivering compelling presentations to senior stakeholders and clients.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 6 years of experience in bid management, proposal coordination, or related roles.
    • Proven experience managing bids in the telecommunications industry, including ICT services, system integration, managed services, or cloud solutions.
    • Hands-on experience with bids for telecom solutions such as data center services, network infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud migration, and managed SASE.
    • Demonstrated success in managing large-scale, multi-million-dollar bids across diverse telecom domains.
  • Certifications: Professional certifications such as PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or IACCM/WorldCC are highly desirable.
