What you'll do:

  • Document and align project scope with all relevant stakeholders to ensure clarity and shared understanding from initiation through completion.
  • Develop detailed project plans including business cases, resource allocation strategies, and budgets for approval by sponsors or committees.
  • Capture and communicate project risks effectively while establishing change management plans and mitigation strategies to support successful delivery.
  • Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams to achieve agreed deliverables within established timelines and cost estimations.
  • Define comprehensive project charters with clear roles and responsibilities for both project teams and stakeholders to foster accountability.
  • Maintain consistent communication with stakeholders regarding project progress, status updates, issues encountered, and requests for support or escalation when necessary.
  • Manage all aspects of project financials including finance tracking, cost reforecasting, benefit realisation monitoring, and reporting.
  • Oversee project closure activities by defining post-project tracking mechanisms to ensure benefits are realised throughout the entire period.
  • Collaborate with IT delivery teams to optimise resource planning across local partners as well as on-shore and off-shore resources for balanced execution.
  • Drive internal and external partners towards adopting Agile methodologies to enhance strategic initiative execution with agility and flexibility.

What you bring:

  • University degree preferably in Business, Finance, Information Technology or related disciplines demonstrating foundational knowledge relevant to the role.
  • 5+ years of proven experience managing or consulting on projects within complex environments such as financial services or insurance sectors.
  • Broad understanding of financial services or insurance industry processes which enables effective stakeholder engagement and solution design.
  • Excellent grasp of project management control procedures ensuring rigorous oversight throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Strong skills in change management coupled with dispute resolution abilities that foster harmonious team dynamics even during challenging periods.
  • Professional qualifications in Project Management (such as PMP or PRINCE2) as well as Agile certifications (such as Scrum Master) are highly desirable for this position.
  • Fluency in English is required along with Mandarin language skills which facilitate communication across diverse teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive collaborative efforts between internal staff members and external partners using Agile methodologies for enhanced results.
  • Experience balancing resource planning between local partners as well as on-shore/off-shore teams for optimal delivery outcomes.
  • Proven track record in benefit tracking, financial reforecasting, and post-project realisation monitoring within large-scale projects.
