Database Administrator/Database Specialist

What you’ll be doing?

• Configure and maintain database servers and processes of SSRS and SSIS, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security
• Perform system patch and version upgrade
• Changes, updates and modifications to system structure and data
• Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement
• Root cause analysis on production issues and suggest solution to peers and team members
• Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
• T-SQL scripting for data manipulation and building ad hoc reports
• Managing high availability features like Failover Cluster, Log Shipping, DB Mirroring, and Replication
• Develop and enforce policies and procedures for internal and external database access
• Ad-hoc support for task and incident handling

Skills/Qualifications Required:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in IT infrastructure or working with Microsoft SQL Server (versions 2008 – 2019)
• Candidates with more experience will be considered as Database Specialist
• Strong knowledge in T-SQL, Windows batch file and Windows PowerShell
• Understanding on Performance Tuning tools such as Execution Plan, SQL Server Profiler, SQL Extended Events and Database Engine Tuning Advisor
• Good problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills
• You will have an advantage if you are/ have
o Knowledge on Linux Operation System
o Knowledge in other scripting language (e.g. Python, Shell script)
o Skill in other relational and non-relational database (e.g. MYSQL, MongoDB)
o Certificates in Microsoft SQL server (MSCE, MCITP…etc)
o Skill in monitoring tools (e.g. Zabbix, Splunk)
