Site Reliability/DevOps Engineer, AWS/Azure, Insurance

An insurance firm is forming their cloud application and infrastructure team for their large-scaled deployment of datalake and cloud-based financial applications later on.

Responsibilities:

• Building monitoring that alerts on symptoms rather than on outages
• Analyze logs, test production environments, and respond to any issues by automation
• Responsible for ensuring that the underlying infrastructure is running
• Investigate and then resolve the issue in the event that a developer runs into a problem
• Revisit the issue and determine the cause to avoid same incident to happen again
• Running infrastructure with IaC and CI tools, like Chef, Ansible, Terraform, CI/CD, and Kubernetes
• Create sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or cloud or equivalent work experience
• 3+ years of relevant work experience in a cloud-based development or operational automation experience
• Strong working knowledge of Linux systems and applications and working with cloud automation/orchestration technologies in AWS/Azure Cloud
• Familiar with core cloud services architecture and cost mechanics (Compute, containers, database, serverless, storage, etc.)
• Knowledge of coding and most of the common programming languages including Ruby, JavaScript and Python
• Monitoring tools such as Prometheus Monitoring, Grafana, AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Datadog, Dynatrace and New Relic
