Data Engineering Lead – Machine Learning/ Gen Ai

We are on the lookout for a Data Engineering lead with expertise in Machine Learning / GenAI to work with our financial services clients. This role involves both hands-on technical work and leadership responsibilities, including managing an agile team and collaborating with internal stakeholders to deliver cutting-edge solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement scalable backend systems and machine learning/ Gen AI -driven applications.
• Design, deploy, and manage cloud-based solutions (preferably on GCP or Alibaba Cloud; experience with AWS or Azure is also valuable).
• Work closely with internal teams to transform business needs into effective technical designs.
• Guide and mentor an agile team by providing technical direction, conducting code reviews, and ensuring high-quality delivery.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• 6–8 years of professional experience in Machine Learning/ Gen AI backend development
• Strong programming skills in modern backend technologies (e.g., Python, JavaScript).
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and deploying applications in cloud environments.
• Proven ability to lead or mentor agile teams effectively.
• Fluency in Cantonese and English, both written and spoken, in a professional setting.
• Prior experience working in the banking sector with complex stakeholder interactions will be a plus
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage directly with business users and present ideas clearly.
