What you'll do:
As a Senior Manager Data Management based in Hong Kong, you will play a central role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of complex data platforms. Your responsibilities will span from hands-on management of technical processes like data injection and masking to strategic collaboration with stakeholders across business units. You will drive continuous improvement by reviewing policies and procedures regularly while also supporting new initiatives through detailed analysis and solution recommendations. Your ability to organise meetings that foster open communication will help maintain momentum on key projects. Administrative oversight will be essential as you manage reporting requirements and coordinate training sessions for your team. By providing mentorship and facilitating knowledge transfer among colleagues, you will contribute significantly to building a supportive culture focused on growth and shared success.
* Oversee daily data management activities and assigned projects within data platforms, including tasks such as data injection, masking, authorisation, aggregation, labelling, troubleshooting, and providing user support.
* Collaborate closely with end users and IT teams at all levels to evaluate, prioritise, devise solutions for, and track progress on end-to-end data requests.
* Provide thorough analysis and recommendations for new data initiatives, addressing pain points or supporting new requirements in areas such as data enablement, analysis, or delivery.
* Organise regular meetings to discuss progress, summarise issues, propose enhancements, and follow up on actions related to the organisation’s data platforms.
* Conduct periodic reviews and enrichments of policies, procedures, guidelines, models, and standards related to data management to ensure alignment with best practices.
* Participate actively in requirement definition sessions, design reviews, user acceptance testing (UAT), rollout processes, and ongoing support activities for systems under your purview.
* Manage administrative tasks for the data team and platforms including preparing metrics reports, coordinating audits and trainings, organising demonstrations and announcements, handling license renewals, and other related duties.
* Provide guidance and mentorship to junior teammates as well as facilitate knowledge transfer across cross-functional teams.
What you bring:
Your background should include substantial experience in operational management within large-scale organisations where you have handled complex business-as-usual activities involving sensitive data requests. A degree in Information Technology or Operations is essential for this role. You will bring advanced communication skills that allow you to connect with diverse stakeholders ranging from senior executives to technical specialists. Your proven track record of fostering collaboration between business units demonstrates your ability to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels supported. * Degree holder in Information Technology, Operations or related disciplines with strong academic credentials relevant to enterprise data management.
* At least five years’ proven experience in operational management roles handling business-as-usual (BAU) activities involving complex data requests within large organisations.
* Demonstrated expertise in establishing, reviewing, and enriching procedures for secure data access control as well as overall data management protocols.
* Exceptional communication skills enabling you to work effectively with end users from various departments as well as cross-functional technical teams.
* Outstanding interpersonal abilities that foster collaboration between business units and technical stakeholders at all organisational levels.
* Advanced problem-solving capabilities allowing you to address challenges quickly while maintaining a considerate approach towards all parties involved.
* Experience conducting policy reviews and implementing enhancements aligned with industry standards for enterprise-level data governance.
* Proficiency in managing administrative functions such as preparing reports for audits or metrics tracking; coordinating training programmes; handling license renewals; organising demonstrations; issuing announcements; and other related tasks.
