A well developed team in an insurance company is hriing Senior Data Engineering candidate for their data analytics project.

Responsibility

• Lead and participate in project and enhancement, which includes analysis business requirements, prioritise the requires and corporate with teammates to deliver the most efficient and cost-effective IT solutions especially on Cloud Data Platform Solution.
• Work with the team, including onshore, offshore and vendors, to define and evaluate new technologies, platform architecture, application design, framework & standards to accomplish the company’s business objectives.
• Analyses user requirements, their existing system work flows and procedures
• Conducts feasibility studies, solution design and evaluation, assists supervisor to liaise with different parties
• Provides support, guidance and liaise with internal application team, offshore resources, Group, vendors and users for development on Data Warehouse/ Big Data solutions
• Manages offshore resources to overview project/ product development in order to deliver successful system implementation on time
• Works with assigned business units and users to understand/review/integrate user requirements and develop the solutions accordingly.
• Measures and monitors progress at clearly defined points in the process to ensure that the project is delivered on time, within budget, and that it meets or exceeds expectations. Balance scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risks. Make adjustments as necessary
• Communicate with SI and / or IT deparment to ensure their understanding to obtain satisfactory level of deliverables
• Discussion/ meeting with outsource partners and vendors on project requirement, solution design & implementation and problem solving

Requirement

• University / College graduate in Computing/IT or related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience with at least 2 years of experience at supervisory role leading team of development work
• Strong technical foundation and knowledge for Data Platform on Insurance industry is preferable
• Experience on Big Data and Cloud solution implementation has advantages
• Solid working experience in large scale cloud data platform implementation and preferably using Azure Cloud with architecture and / or technical lead role.
• Experience on lakehouse architecture using Databricks, expertise on data ingestion / ETL implementation using Databricks with experience on Autoloader, SQL Warehouse, Delta Table, ETL using Python etc.
• Extensive experience in various project implementation and support platforms
• Strong leadership and team building ability
• Proficient communication and consultation skills
