Data Engineer/ETL Developer (Asset Management)

A leading asset management firm in Hong Kong is seeking a Data Engineer and ETL Developer to support the development of ESG products and regulatory reporting solutions.

This role focuses on designing and maintaining robust data pipelines, ensuring high data quality, and enabling scalable analytics across the business. Key responsibilities:

As a Data Engineer and ETL Developer in asset management, you will play a central role in shaping the firm's ESG product offerings by designing robust database structures and developing efficient ETL processes.

• Design and develop database objects (tables, stored procedures, queries, and triggers) to support ESG-related projects
• Build, maintain, and optimise ETL pipelines using Python, SQL, SSIS, and scheduling tools
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on database architecture and interface design for ESG initiatives
• Develop logical and physical data models while ensuring strong data integrity, quality, and consistency
• Manage development, UAT, and production environments to ensure smooth deployment across project stages
• Produce clear documentation of design specifications and functional requirements for project delivery

Candidate profile:

Your proven experience as a Data Engineer or ETL Developer equips you with the technical expertise needed for this asset management role.

• Expert-level proficiency in SQL and Python for building and optimising data solutions
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft enterprise tools, including SSIS, SQL Server, and SSRS
• Proven experience delivering data interface development and system/data migration projects
• Strong expertise in data modelling, data analysis, and data governance frameworks
• Quick learner with the ability to adapt effectively to new and evolving technical environments
• Familiarity with .NET and additional ETL tools considered a strong advantage
• Knowledge of data governance and data quality management best practices
• Strong team player with excellent communication skills, professional integrity, and a collaborative work ethic
