Data Products & BI Governance Lead (Contract)

A global technology company seeks a Data Products & BI Governance Lead in Hong Kong for a 12-month fixed-term contract, to drive strategy, ensure compliance, and enhance cross-team collaboration.

Key responsibilities:

As Data Products & BI Governance Lead, you will streamline strategic assets, define priority use cases, and maintain a trusted, transparent BI catalogue.

• Strategic Data Product Rationalisation & Value: Rationalise data products and BI assets, define business use cases, and communicate measurable business value (efficiency, risk reduction, revenue enablement)
• Data Product Catalogue & Transparency: Establish and maintain a trusted catalog with high-quality metadata (definitions, ownership, usage guidance, quality indicators) and complete business/technical lineage
• Data Governance, Quality & Compliance: Ensure compliance with governance, retention, and lifecycle standards while validating data integrity and lineage
• BI Governance & Enablement: Operationalise BI Governance framework (standards, certification, lifecycle, reuse), lead a BI Community of Excellence, and provide SME guidance to stakeholders

Candidate profile:

To excel in this role, you bring expertise in enterprise data product management, BI governance, compliance, lineage validation, and cross-team collaboration.

• 5+ years’ experience in data product management, data governance, BI/analytics governance, or enterprise data management
• Deep knowledge of governance frameworks, data retention/lifecycle, compliance, metadata, catalogues, and lineage
• Proven ability to enhance data quality, integrity, and usability in complex environments
• Experience leading cross-functional forums or communities and engaging stakeholders across business and IT
• Familiarity with BI platforms, governance tools, ETL solutions, certified data products, and data quality/value KPIs is a plus
