Data Engineer (Databricks)

A leading multinational company seeks a Data Engineer in Hong Kong, leveraging Databricks to build data pipelines and cloud solutions while supporting critical reporting in a collaborative, growth-focused team.

Key responsibilities:

As a Data Engineer (Databricks), you will design scalable data pipelines, ensure secure data processing, support critical reporting, and collaborate across teams to deliver reliable, data-driven solutions.

• Design and build end-to-end data solutions to collect, integrate, secure, and transform data using cloud platforms such as Databricks
• Develop, monitor, and optimise data pipelines, scripts, and custom code (e.g. Python, SQL, Databricks)
• Collaborate with business users to enhance reporting tools and deliver solutions aligned to requirements
• Perform testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and data analysis to ensure system reliability
• Document solutions and processes clearly, while working collaboratively in a team with occasional site travel

Candidate profile:

To excel in this role, you bring end-to-end data engineering experience, cloud expertise, strong stakeholder collaboration, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, Statistics, or related field with 2–4 years’ data engineering experience
• Strong skills in SQL/Oracle, Python (and/or Java), ETL processes, and data modelling, with experience in Databricks
• Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (Databricks, etc.), data asset management, and pipeline optimisation (certification a plus)
• Self-driven with ability to deliver independently, produce design documentation, and communicate effectively (English; Mandarin a plus)
• Collaborative mindset with exposure to AI/ML and manufacturing/process engineering concepts preferred
