Key responsibilities:

As a Senior Data Engineer/Analyst, you will play a key role in designing, optimising, and maintaining complex data systems that drive business decisions.

• Design, develop, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions for application and reporting needs
• Optimise query performance through execution plan analysis, indexing, and tuning strategies
• Troubleshoot slow queries and resolve database performance or operational issues, escalating complex cases when required
• Manage database configurations, replication, and backup processes to maintain high availability and data integrity
• Advise on database design, including schema structure, indexing, and partitioning strategies

Candidate profile:

To excel in this role, you bring proven expertise in managing complex databases within demanding environments alongside strong interpersonal skills that foster collaboration.

• 4–5 years of database administration experience with strong hands-on SQL expertise
• Proven skills in advanced SQL development, including complex joins, query structuring, and performance tuning
• Solid knowledge of query optimisation, indexing, and partitioning strategies
• Experience supporting large datasets, performance-critical systems, and database backup/recovery best practices
