Manager, Data Science (Financial Services)

A leading global insurer seeks a Manager, Data Science in Quarry Bay (HK) to drive AI, analytics, and BI innovation across regions in a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

As Manager, Data Science, you will lead regional analytics strategy, deliver AI/BI solutions (Databricks, Power BI/Tableau), drive Agile projects, and align stakeholders across teams.

• Lead design and delivery of advanced Analytics, BI, AI, and Data Science Use Cases with business and analytics stakeholders
• Drive modernisation through AI-powered BI tools, machine learning models, and advanced analytics adoption
• Identify high-value opportunities and prototype data-driven solutions that deliver measurable business impact
• Bridge business and technical teams, translating needs into scalable, aligned analytics solutions
• Foster inclusive collaboration and strengthen global partnerships to scale BI, AI, and data science capabilities

Candidate profile

To excel in this role, you bring strong financial services data science expertise, Databricks and Python/R skills, Agile project leadership, and the ability to translate AI insights for global stakeholders.

• 4–8 years’ experience from a large Financial Services, deriving insights from large structured and unstructured datasets
• Strong proficiency in Databricks, machine learning, and analytics tools including Python, R, and Spark
• Hands-on experience delivering BI solutions using PowerBI and Tableau
• Proven Agile project delivery, collaborating on programming and project architecture initiatives
• Demonstrated people leadership (leading 3–4 onshore, partnering with offshore teams), with strong English communication and stakeholder presentation skills
