General Manager, Operations (Department Store)
Currently seeking a seasoned General Manager, Operations to lead the end‑to‑end operational setup and ongoing management of this high‑profile retail destination. The successful candidate will bring deep knowledge of department store operations, proven experience in new store expansion, and the ability to manage multi‑category retail environments at scale.
Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership: Oversee daily operations of the department store, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and excellence in customer experience.

New Store Expansion: Lead the operational setup of the new store, including systems, processes, staffing, and vendor onboarding.

Multi‑Category Management: Drive operational standards across diverse categories (fashion, beauty, lifestyle, food & beverage, home, etc.), ensuring consistency and profitability.

Commercial & Vendor Partnerships: Collaborate with merchandising and leasing teams to secure and manage vendor relationships, negotiate terms, and optimise category performance.

Customer Experience: Implement service standards and operational innovations to deliver a premium shopping experience aligned with the group’s vision.

Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and manage a large operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, agility, and service excellence.

Financial & KPI Management: Monitor budgets, P&L, and operational KPIs, ensuring targets are met and resources optimised.

Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure adherence to health, safety, and regulatory requirements across all operations.

Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimisation, digital integration, and operational innovation to enhance efficiency and competitiveness.
Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 12–15 years of senior operations experience in department stores, large‑scale retail, or shopping mall management.

Proven track record in new store openings/expansion projects.

Strong understanding of multi‑category retail operations and vendor management.

Demonstrated ability to manage large teams and complex operational structures.

Commercial acumen with experience in P&L management and KPI delivery.

Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Fluency in English; Cantonese/Mandarin an advantage.
