A leading financial institution seeks Executive Director, Head of Institutional Equities (Global Markets) in Hong Kong Island to drive Asia equities strategy, client engagement, and revenue growth.

Key responsibilities

As Executive Director, Head of Institutional Equities (Global Markets), you will lead institutional client coverage across Asia, delivering strategic market insights, driving ECM execution, and collaborating cross-functionally to grow revenue and strengthen global market presence.

  • Manage institutional equity accounts, delivering high-touch service with daily market updates, trade ideas, and research insights
  • Lead equity product distribution in partnership with Sales Trading, Research, and Equity Capital Markets (ECM) teams
  • Pitch and execute ECM transactions including IPOs, equity placements, rights issues, and preferential offerings
  • Drive revenue growth through trading commissions, ECM brokerage, and prime brokerage sales
  • Represent the firm in analyst marketing, corporate roadshows, and team investment calls

Candidate profile

To excel in this role, you will bring deep Asia institutional equities expertise, strong ECM and trading execution capabilities, and a collaborative, client-focused approach that builds trusted relationships and drives results.

  • 13+ years’ experience managing institutional equity clients across Asia
  • Strong expertise and knowledge in equity products, ECM transactions, and capital markets
  • Proven revenue generation with a sustainable institutional and hedge fund client base
  • Demonstrated success in driving growth through prime brokerage trading, financing, and custody solutions
  • Excellent relationship management, communication, and teamwork skills; team leadership experience is advantageous
