Business Development Manager - International Trading/ Export

This role offers you the chance to play a pivotal part in expanding the company’s global footprint by executing strategic procurement and sales activities, developing new markets, and nurturing key relationships with suppliers and customers worldwide. What you'll do:

  • Assist the department director by managing and coordinating various tobacco-related operations within the organisation, ensuring seamless execution of daily activities.
  • Execute procurement and sales initiatives in target markets according to annual business plans, contributing directly to the expansion and sustainable development of international operations.
  • Promote tobacco products on a global scale by identifying new customers and channels, thereby increasing market presence across diverse regions.
  • Manage relationships with international suppliers and customers by facilitating effective business negotiations, estimating costs and sales prices, drafting contracts, and processing export documentation.
  • Gather customer feedback regarding product quality and demand trends, implementing optimisation measures to enhance satisfaction and competitiveness.
  • Coordinate with overseas subsidiaries to support their business operations while collaboratively expanding tobacco leaf sales through shared strategies.
  • Undertake occasional business trips focused on procurement and sales activities, representing the company’s interests abroad with professionalism and cultural sensitivity.
  • Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis, preparing detailed reports on industry trends, market conditions, and other relevant business topics for internal stakeholders.
  • Support ad-hoc duties as assigned by senior management, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to team objectives.

What you bring:

  • A bachelor’s degree or above in International Commerce, Economics, Logistics, Business Management or a related field is preferred but not essential for consideration.
  • Experience working within agricultural products or international trading environments is highly desirable; ideally you will have accumulated at least three years of relevant work experience.
  • Professional proficiency in both spoken and written Chinese (preferably Mandarin) as well as English is required to facilitate effective cross-border communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clear, concise reports in both Chinese and English for internal use or external presentation purposes.
  • A strong sense of responsibility combined with maturity enables you to handle complex tasks reliably while maintaining high standards of integrity.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills allow you to build rapport easily with colleagues from diverse backgrounds as well as external partners around the world.
  • Outstanding communication abilities ensure smooth negotiation processes and foster positive long-term relationships with clients and suppliers alike.
  • Candidates who possess less experience may be considered for a Senior Officer position within the team.
