Director, Business Development – Audio Communication Solutions

Our client is a specialized ODM, primarily developing functional solutions for portable audio & communication devices.

This position carries full responsibility for leading the commercial expansion into new high-value customer segments and for building long-term strategic technology partnerships. The role sits at the very front-end of the company’s growth engine: identifying where the business should go next, defining the short-term and long-term commercial strategies, and actively leading the sales organisation to win large-scale customers in precisely defined product verticals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute clear short-term and long-term strategies to enter and win share in product verticals

  • Lead, coach and up-level the existing distributed sales & account management team

  • Personally drive new customer acquisition: identify targets, open senior-level doors, run complex technical-commercial dialogues, close large development contracts

  • Build and cultivate a high-quality network of technology partners (audio SoC / chipset vendors, Bluetooth/RF module houses, ANC specialists, battery & power-management suppliers, sensor providers etc.) and systematically turn selected partners into an extended sales & co-innovation channel

  • Maintain strategic account management discipline with existing key customers; systematically grow share of wallet

  • Act as the principal translator of customer roadmaps and future technical needs back into the organisation → ensure R&D, engineering and capability investments are directed at the right priorities

Ideal Profile:

  • Minimum 15 years of Sales / BD roles at headphone / professional comms brands that worked closely with ODM partners on custom projects
  • Proven track record of winning and growing large custom-development accounts in a technical B2B environment (not distribution or off-the-shelf selling)

  • Existing, trusted network among audio brands, professional/industrial comms manufacturers, audio ODMs, tier-1 Asian contract manufacturers and relevant component suppliers

  • Strong preference for candidates who have lived experience with engineered soft goods integration or communication products
