What you'll do:

  • Identify new business prospects by acquiring ship owners, operators, managers, traders, and end-users, nurturing these relationships into long-term partnerships.
  • Lead high-value negotiations for bunker supply contracts including spot deals, term agreements, and biofuel-inclusive transactions to maximise commercial outcomes.
  • Utilise your industry expertise to position the organisation as the preferred partner for bunkering services across container, tanker, bulk, offshore segments and more.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams such as trading, operations, finance, and sustainability to ensure seamless delivery of services and optimal customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor evolving market trends, competitor activities, regulatory changes (including IMO regulations, EU ETS requirements, FuelEU Maritime policies), and biofuel adoption rates to identify emerging business opportunities.
  • Represent the organisation at prominent industry events, conferences, and client meetings to enhance brand visibility and generate valuable leads for future growth.
  • Achieve ambitious annual sales volume targets as well as profitability objectives through effective relationship management and strategic deal-making.

What you bring:

  • Over ten years of proven experience in bunker trading or marine fuel sales roles within the bunkering, shipping or oil trading sectors is essential for this position.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully building expansive customer networks and closing large-volume bunker contracts with ship owners or traders.
  • Strong existing relationships with ship owners, operators, charterers or bunker traders across Asia Pacific; additional global contacts would be highly beneficial.
  • Comprehensive understanding of marine fuel specifications including pricing mechanisms, credit management practices, risk assessment protocols and physical supply chain logistics.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current sustainability trends such as biofuels (LSFO/VLSFO) along with relevant regulatory frameworks impacting maritime commerce.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Business Administration, Maritime Studies, Economics or Engineering is preferred for this senior-level appointment.
  • Excellent command of English language skills both written and spoken is required; proficiency in Mandarin or Cantonese would be advantageous for regional engagement.
  • Strategic mindset complemented by advanced negotiation abilities plus strong communication skills that foster trust-based relationships with clients and partners.
  • Results-oriented approach combined with self-motivation; ability to thrive within performance-driven environments where teamwork is valued.
