Senior Manager / Manager - Quality (Apparel)
As Senior Manager / Manager - Quality, you will play a central role in shaping the future of quality management for U.S. apparel brands. Your day-to-day activities will involve overseeing rigorous QA/QC processes across various sourcing and production offices, mentoring talented teams, implementing innovative best practices and collaborating closely with customers to deliver exceptional results.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee the full spectrum of quality assurance and control processes for apparel products, ensuring strict compliance with both internal policies and external regulatory standards.
- Mentor, train and support QC teams to foster their professional development and enhance overall effectiveness within the department.
- Establish, implement and refine best practices for quality control using data-driven methodologies aimed at improving product quality and minimising defects.
- Cultivate a proactive culture by anticipating potential quality issues early on and deploying strategic measures to address them before escalation occurs.
- Collaborate directly with customers to understand their specific quality requirements, ensuring that all expectations are met or exceeded through tailored solutions.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on refining QC processes and methodologies to drive operational excellence throughout the organisation.
- Prepare comprehensive quality reports for senior management, highlighting key metrics, trends, challenges, and actionable recommendations for further enhancement.
- Coordinate cross-functional efforts between sourcing, production and quality teams to ensure seamless communication and alignment on quality objectives.
- Facilitate regular training sessions for staff members to keep them updated on evolving industry standards and best practices in apparel quality management.
- Represent the organisation during audits or customer visits, demonstrating commitment to high-quality standards and transparent operations.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated track record of more than ten years in apparel quality management with proven success in leading complex projects across international markets.
- Experience in apparel business administration is highly regarded as it provides valuable insight into broader organisational operations.
- Exceptional communication skills complemented by attentive listening abilities that enable effective collaboration with colleagues at all levels.
- Meticulous attention to detail combined with strong people skills ensures smooth team interactions and accurate execution of tasks.
- Outstanding organisational capabilities that facilitate efficient workflow management even under tight deadlines or shifting priorities.
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English. Understanding of Chinese is not a must, but this would enable seamless communication within multicultural environments.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently throughout Southeast Asia and China as required by business needs.
- A collaborative mindset that thrives in team-oriented settings where knowledge sharing is encouraged for mutual success.
- Commitment to continuous learning demonstrated by participation in training programmes or industry workshops relevant to apparel quality management.
