What you'll do:

  • Oversee all quality control activities for knits, woven, denim, and sweater products throughout South China and Southeast Asia, ensuring consistent adherence to customer requirements.
  • Balance strategic planning with hands-on operational effectiveness to deliver outstanding results across multiple product lines and regions.
  • Provide comprehensive training, supervision, and support to field teams so that customer quality expectations are fully understood and met at every stage of production.
  • Set clear key performance indicators (KPIs) for vendor quality control performance, generating detailed reports for both internal review and external action.
  • Direct factory evaluations for both current suppliers and potential new partners to ensure compliance with rigorous quality standards.
  • Foster a culture of 'right first time' by promoting best practices and continuous improvement throughout the organisation.
  • Build trust and credibility with customers through transparent communication and dependable service delivery.
  • Coach staff at all levels to upgrade their skills and perform at higher standards through targeted training initiatives.
  • Lead investigations into customer distribution centre or store rejects, coordinating cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with merchandising teams to influence sourcing strategies based on quality insights and market trends.
  • Monitor quality control expenses carefully while creating a lean, efficient team structure that supports organisational goals.
  • Support various quality project initiatives designed to enhance processes and align with evolving customer needs.
  • Review quality manuals regularly to ensure alignment with customer requirements and industry best practices.

What you bring:

  • Diploma or above in Fashion, Textiles or related disciplines is required for this position as it provides essential technical knowledge relevant to the role.
  • At least ten years of relevant working experience in apparel production or quality control management is necessary to demonstrate your depth of expertise.
  • A minimum of eight years at managerial level is expected so you can effectively guide teams and departments towards shared goals.
  • Proven track record managing both woven and knit garment items ensures you understand the unique challenges associated with each category.
  • Experience in similar positions or comparable leadership roles for US retailers or trading companies highlights your ability to meet international standards.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of factory safety protocols as well as apparel safety requirements for US and EU markets is vital for compliance purposes.
  • Sound understanding of technical patterns and garment construction enables you to assess product integrity accurately.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including problem solving abilities are needed when dealing with customers or factories under pressure.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese allows you to connect effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Being independent yet well-organised ensures you can manage multiple priorities efficiently while presenting yourself professionally.
