As the Sourcing and Procurement Manager – Packaging, you will be entrusted with shaping the future of procurement for packaging categories within a dynamic international environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies for assigned packaging categories across various regions and markets, ensuring alignment with organisational goals for cost competitiveness, quality assurance, ESG compliance, and service excellence.
  • Establish and maintain category-specific policies, procedures, and governance frameworks to support effective procurement operations and ensure consistency across all activities.
  • Drive cost savings initiatives by identifying value creation opportunities, maintaining a sustainable savings pipeline, and governing the saving tracker within the category.
  • Monitor market trends, industry best practices, and emerging technologies relevant to the textiles sector to inform strategic decision-making and maintain competitive advantage.
  • Design and implement category-specific metrics and KPIs to track performance, identify areas for improvement, and report on progress to senior stakeholders.
  • Review and analyse category spend data regularly to uncover business needs, optimise sourcing decisions, and maximise value from supplier relationships.
  • Initiate sourcing events such as RFQs, RFPs, negotiations, and contracting processes to achieve optimal outcomes balancing cost efficiency with high-quality standards.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers—including manufacturing agreements—ensuring favourable terms that support long-term business objectives.
  • Lead supplier sourcing and development efforts by setting up performance metrics in collaboration with operations teams as part of a robust Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) programme focused on joint collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate resolution of critical supplier issues such as quality complaints by driving root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field is required to provide the foundational knowledge necessary for this complex role.
  • At least five years’ experience in procurement or category management—ideally within the textiles industry—demonstrates your proven ability to manage large-scale sourcing projects effectively.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing sourcing events including RFQ/RFP processes and contract negotiations ensures you can secure optimal terms from suppliers.
  • Familiarity with raw material market trends and commodity indices enables you to make informed decisions that benefit both cost control and product quality.
  • A strong grasp of cost competitiveness principles combined with experience in quality assurance processes supports your ability to deliver consistent value.
  • Proven track record of driving cost savings initiatives while creating sustainable pipelines highlights your commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Advanced analytical skills allow you to review complex spend data sets efficiently and identify actionable insights for optimisation.
  • Experience developing metrics and KPIs for tracking procurement performance ensures transparency and accountability throughout the process.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are essential for managing supplier relationships collaboratively alongside internal teams focused on operational excellence.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English and Chinese is required for effective communication across diverse stakeholder groups.
